wired DSL has very little band width,it gets so bad that we can,t use Netflix or any internet type service. AT&T had installed new eqmt, on the street then removed it before it was ever in service. They tell there nothing they can do for us but I been in the phone business for over 40years now ,still have an installation company I started 22years ago I think I know when the phone company just don’t care .

I have been with ATT for over 40 years but decided to leave them due to expensive costs and lack of customer service. We tried switching to Comcast and were surprised to find that their sales people lie to you just like all the rest just to get you to sign up. We lost the features we had, namely: Call Transfer; Ringmaster and pager notification. Went back to ATT and their customer service never heard of these features. It took several calls to locate a person knowledgeable enough to help us, but we ended up going to VOIP with Vonage. Vonage has the best services and best customer service and best features but occasionally, we would have bad connections and dropped calls but this could be due to the internet connection, which they can’t control. Recently I had a call from ATT (actually a sales person selling ATT but calling himself ATT) and they convinced me to try ATT Uverse. Like the rest, they promised all the features would be available and at a reasonable price with no contract and can cancel anytime. The recommended Uverse, which is also VOIP, but when my service was connected today, I found out that again, they lied about the features. No Call Transfer, no Ringmaster, no Pager notification.
I would like a regular landline with the features I had but don’t want to get scalped on the pricing. They only offered me 12gig internet. I gave up 50gig with Comcast and probably cheaper price with Vonage combined with Comcast. ATT does not train their people, who don’t know anything about which features are offered. Also, they have thousands of sales people, but my biggest complaint was getting a customer service rep on the phone. Now they are easier to reach, but their people don’t know what they are selling and they are subbing out their sales to other companies as resellers. I heard from one of the ATT reps that they were leaning toward eliminating wireline phones and going to all VOIP since the customers seem to be OK with dropped calls and bad connections to save a few dollars. Is our technology going in the wrong direction? I highly suggest Vonage but get a good Internet provider.

Further to my last post, I forgot to mention that when I changed from ATT to Vonage, that it took several months to get them to port my number over to Vonage. I wrote to the FCC and complained, but obviously you are wasting your time with Federal agencies.
All we received was an email from ATT saying that they were looking into the matter. When I went back to ATT this month, it took only 1 day to port my number back to ATT.
